There are numerous opportunities and resources exclusively for veterans and many of them can be found on the SBA website. Department of Veterans Affairs: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) site offers information on the veterans-owned certification that veteran entrepreneurs can obtain in order to qualify for VA set-asides. This certification allows veteran-owned businesses to pursue certain government contracts that are reserved for or preferential towards veterans. American Corporate Partners: This nonprofit organization pairs veterans with mentors who offer invaluable insights, and connections, for veterans seeking business or career advice. American Corporate Partners aims to assist veterans in transitioning from the military to the business or corporate sector. Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities: This bootcamp offers phased assistance to veterans with disabilities through Syracuse University. The program begins with online course instruction, followed by an in-person residency and finishes with a 12-month mentorship program. Veteran Fast Launch Initiative: Offered by the SCORE Foundation, the Veteran Fast Launch Initiative offers veterans and their families free software and mentorship to accelerate the launch and growth of veteran-owned small businesses. “You need to be the chief Kool-Aid drinker of what you are doing.
